Deborah Russell

Deborah Russell

Deborah feels the circle of energy we experience in a yogic state can be a shared experience on the mat. Early in her practice, she found yoga to both energize and balance her on every level. Moving to Carmel a decade ago, Deborah committed herself to following the Yoga path. Because of past injuries, she hoped the gentle asana along with subtle, yet deep movements and extensions, might be the right direction for her changing physical essence. This also led to a deeper spiritual understanding of healing the body through Yoga, learning from several teachers who taught from their own personal and spiritual path.

Feeling a shift in her own physicality she committed to being a Yoga Instructor, which would keep her in touch with not only her own physical presence, but also supporting other Yogis on their path and in their practice. Deborah, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), is committed to sharing a comfortable, healing, and personal practice for each student. Every Yoga practice begins and ends with an emphasis on honoring ourselves. Since every day is different for our bodies, minds, and hearts, her gentle opening practice allows each student the opportunity to honor and nourish their individual needs.

Deborah currently teaches classes at Yoga Center of Carmel, which she considers her Yoga home and Ventana Inn & Spa. Private sessions available on request.
